Summary
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is conducting a Five-Year Review of the Westinghouse Elevator Co. Plant Superfund Site located in Cumberland Township. EPA inspects sites regularly to ensure that cleanups conducted remain fully protective of public health and the environment. The prior review of the site conducted in 2010 determined that while the remedy was protective in the short-term, more testing was needed to make a long-term protectiveness determination. Since then, additional tests have been conducted, with test results and a protectiveness determination available June 2016. Five Year reviews and closeout reports are available on the Superfund Documents page.
